House leek

JUST IN CASE YOU ARE ALLERGIC, WHICH IS VERY RARE, RUB A VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF GEL ON THE INNER SIDE OF YOUR  ARM  AND WAIT 24 HRS TO SEE IF A REACTION TAKES PLACE, IF A BURNING SENSATION IS EXPERIENCED WASH OFF WITH WATER AT ONCE.

You will often see a clump growing on the roof of old houses and cottages as they need little soil and nutrition, and can be found in holes and cracks in walls. Legend has it that to plant in such positions will prevent the house from catching fire or being struck by lightning! It has a more practical use the sap is cooling and soothing.

Houseleek has been found to be effective in the treatment of;
    •    Corns
    •    Burns
    •    Insect bites
    •    Small bleeding wounds
    •    Head ache  Crushed leaves applied to the forehead

How to use;
A broken leaf, with the ‘gooey’ sap that it exudes, will soon stop a bleeding wound.
Likewise those that suffer from corns, a split leaf of this plant placed over the corn and held there with a plaster for several days will soften the corn and make it easy to remove.
The broken leaf that exudes this gel/sap is likewise a relief for burns and sores.
Headache; apply crushed leaves to the forehead
