Common medicinal plants
found in our gardens.

Many plants with medicinal properties can be found growing in the wild, you may even have some in your own back garden! I have only researched these plants with the intention to use them myself at some point. I have researched as much as I could and found information on some plants to be more informative than others. Some information also states information that another source doesn't mention. Please be aware that there might be a risk and always try small amounts first and never use too much of any plant. The motto is less is more.

Blackberry

Found in hedgerows, shrub land, gardens, forest margins and woodland glades.
Blackberry juice is rich in vitamins and fruit acids.  The leaves are very good on their own or mixed in tea. Fermented Blackberry leaves have also in the past been used as a substitute for real tea.

Blackberry has been found to be effective in the treatment of;
    •    Diarrhoea
    •    Throat infections
    •    Rinses for skin problems

Tea dried leaves are recommended for diarrhoea made with 2 teaspoons of leaves, same mix for rinsing skin and throat gargle.
Just eat or juice the fruit.
